The Water Management Grant is being reopened in 2026, with up to £15 million of funding announced to support farmers in building on-farm reservoirs. The grant is intended to help farms store water when it is available and use it when needed for crop irrigation, improving resilience to drought and periods of dry weather. Defra has identified arable and horticultural businesses as key beneficiaries.
