About Water Tank Level Gauges & Smart Tank Monitors
From simple visual indicators to advanced radar monitoring with smartphone access, our range makes it easier to see how much water you have available without manually checking inside.
Whether you need a straightforward gauge for a campervan or motorhome, or a smart monitor for a larger water storage or rainwater tank, we offer options for both local and remote water level monitoring.
Our range includes the Magnus HAWKi which uses high-accuracy radar and connects to your smartphone via bluetooth. We also have the Magnus SENTRi which provides remote tank monitoring using its own cellular connection - no Wi-Fi at the tank is required.
Choosing a Water Tank Level Gauge or Monitor
Knowing how much water is left in your tank can help you manage water usage, plan refilling and avoid unexpectedly running out.
The best way to monitor your tank will depend on the application. A conventional water tank level gauge may be all that's required for a campervan or smaller water tank, while a smart water tank monitor can provide more detailed information and smartphone access for larger or less accessible tanks.
Smart Water Tank Monitoring
Our Magnus smart tank monitors use 60GHz radar technology to measure the water level without the sensor coming into contact with the water. Magnus specifies an accuracy of ±5mm and a measuring range of up to 3 metres.
There are two main monitoring options:
Magnus HAWKi – connects directly to your smartphone using long-range Bluetooth, making it ideal for convenient monitoring when you are within range of your tank. An optional Wi-Fi Gateway can be added if remote monitoring is required.
Magnus SENTRi – designed for remote tank monitoring. SENTRi uses its own cellular connection to send readings to the Magnus Cloud, so Wi-Fi at the tank is not required. Suitable mobile network coverage is required at the installation location. Full SENTRi Installation guide …
Plastic & Metal Tank Installation
Magnus smart monitors can be fitted to both plastic and metal water tanks, but the installation method is different.
Plastic tanks: The radar can measure through suitable plastic, allowing the monitor to be attached to a suitable flat area on top of many tanks using the adhesive mounting system. This means no drilling is normally required. Pre-drilled mounting options are also available.
Metal tanks: Radar cannot measure through the metal tank wall. The monitor therefore needs to be positioned over an opening with a clear path to the water below. Magnus provides threaded mounting options suitable for 1½" and 2" female BSP gauge openings.
For bunded tanks, the monitor must be positioned so that it measures the water level within the inner tank.
