Choosing tank fittings
What size is my outlet?
Tank outlets use BSP threads, and the size name isn't the measurement across the thread. Measure across the outside of a male thread and match it here:

Male or female?
A male thread is on the outside of the fitting. A female thread is on the inside. Check which one your tank's outlet has, then choose a fitting with the opposite, so the two screw together.
Going down a size
Use a reducing bush or reducer to step down, for example from a 1 1/2″ outlet to a 3/4″ tap.
In the size filter, reducers and M/F outlets are listed under the size that screws into your tank.
Drinking water
If the water is for drinking, or the tank is connected to the mains, look for WRAS approved in the product name.

Will this fitting fit my tank?
Check the outlet size and whether its thread is male or female. If you're not sure, tell us the make and size of your tank and we'll check for you.
Can I add another outlet to my tank?
Yes. Tank outlets such as Hansen and QJ KwiQ Fit fit through a hole drilled in the tank wall. Check the product page for the hole size, or call us and we'll talk you through it.
How do I seal a threaded fitting?
Wrap a few turns of PTFE tape around the male thread, in the same direction the fitting screws in, then tighten it by hand and finish with a spanner. Don't over-tighten plastic threads.
