The Marsh Uni:Gem is a Septic Tank Conversion Unit that turns an existing onion septic tank into a full sewage treatment plant. It suits homes with a population equivalent of up to 6, which covers houses with up to four bedrooms.
How the Septic Tank Conversion Unit works
The Uni:Gem sits after your existing onion septic tank. Effluent from the tank flows into the Uni:Gem aeration chamber, where it is treated before discharge. As a result, the system meets the General Binding Rules for small sewage discharges. Please note that the septic tank itself is not included.

Servicing and permits
Like all treatment plants, this unit needs desludging from time to time, and the compressor should be serviced regularly. For this reason, we recommend a service contract with a local engineer. In addition, please check with the Environment Agency, SEPA or Natural Resources Wales whether your discharge needs a permit or falls under the General Binding Rules.
