The Marsh 50,000 Litre Cesspool Holding Tank stores sewage, grey water or rainwater underground until it is pumped out by a tanker. It holds 50,000 litres (10,989 gallons), and it is built to BS 4994 and BS EN 976.
Sizing a 50,000 Litre Cesspool Holding Tank
Building Regulations require a cesspool serving a home to hold at least 18,000 litres for two people, plus 6,800 litres for each extra person. On that basis, this tank suits up to 6 users. Because a cesspool has no outlet, it needs regular emptying, so a high level alarm is a sensible extra.
Key features
- Built to BS 4994 and BS EN 976

Options
Before adding the 50,000 Litre Cesspool Holding Tank to your basket, choose a lining to suit what you store and a high level alarm. The price updates as you pick each option.
Installation
Depending on ground conditions, the tank can be backfilled with granular material or with concrete. However, if the water table rises above the base of the tank at any time of year, it must be set in concrete. The same applies on clay or other ground that does not drain freely. Using the wrong backfill can void the manufacturer’s warranty, so please agree the method with your installer first.
