The Marsh 12,000 Litre Shallow Dig Septic Tank is a horizontal GRP septic tank for sites where digging deep is difficult. It holds 12,000 litres (2,637 gallons), and it is tested to EN 12566-1.
Sizing a 12,000 Litre Shallow Dig Septic Tank
As a guide, BS 6297 sizes a septic tank at 2,000 litres plus 180 litres for each person, with a minimum of 2,700 litres. On that basis, this tank suits up to about 55 people. Because it is a shallow dig design, it is ideal where the water table is high or the ground is rocky.

Installation
Depending on ground conditions, the tank can be backfilled with granular material or with concrete. However, if the water table rises above the base of the tank at any time of year, it must be set in concrete. The same applies on clay or other ground that does not drain freely. Using the wrong backfill can void the manufacturer’s warranty, so please agree the method with your installer first.

Standard tanks (no customisation) are returnable but subject to a restocking charge and must be returned in A1 condition. Returns may be expensive due to size and weight; please check before ordering.

Failed delivery attempts: After one unsuccessful delivery attempt, items will be returned to the depot, and redelivery charges may apply.

Special or custom tanks are non-returnable. If the wrong product is ordered or the item is no longer required, it cannot be returned, and no refund will be issued.
