The 1500 Litre Shallow Dig Cesspool from GRAF is a small, low-profile holding tank for sites where only a little wastewater needs storing. It suits a garden office toilet, a remote hut or a seasonal facility on ground that is hard to dig.
Like all Platin tanks, the 1500 litre shallow dig cesspool is wide and flat rather than tall. The tank body is just 700 mm high, which keeps the excavation shallow, cuts digging costs and makes it a strong choice where the water table is high. GRAF designs Platin tanks to stay stable in groundwater, and the tough polyethylene body is far lighter than concrete.
It is watertight and holds all incoming effluent and raw sewage with no outlet. A licensed waste carrier empties it when it gets close to full.

Sizing a 1500 Litre Shallow Dig Cesspool
For a permanent home, Building Regulations Approved Document H2 asks for a cesspool of at least 18,000 litres for two people. This size suits low-use, seasonal or temporary sites rather than a house, so check with your local Building Control if you are unsure.
At around 100 litres a day going in, this tank holds roughly 2 weeks of wastewater before it needs emptying.
