The Marsh Ensign 30 Person Sewage Treatment Plant is a robust, low-maintenance package plant for homes and buildings that are not connected to the mains sewer. It is sized for up to 30 people, which suits a small development, a pub with rooms or a caravan park.
How the Ensign 30 Person Sewage Treatment Plant works
Inside, there are no moving parts. As a result, installation and commissioning are simple, and long-term servicing costs stay low. A low-energy compressor supplies air to the treatment chamber, so running costs are modest too.
First, sewage enters the primary settlement chamber, where solids settle and break down. Next, the clarified liquid flows into the aeration chamber. Here, bacteria living on mobile media are fed with air, and they remove the dissolved pollutants. Finally, the treated water passes through a settlement chamber and out to a drainage field or watercourse.
Key features
- No internal moving parts, so there is very little to wear out
- Low-energy air compressor, housed internally or externally at no extra cost
- Tested and approved to BS EN 12566-3, with around 97% pollutant removal on published test results
- Polylok filter on the outlet to hold back solids
- Forsheda seal on the inlet for a flexible, easier joint
- Optional risers to suit deeper inlet pipes
Outlet options
Choose a gravity outlet if the treated water can flow downhill to your drainage field or watercourse. If it cannot, the pumped outlet version has a built-in pump chamber that lifts the water to a higher discharge point. The price updates when you pick an option.
Inlet depth and extras
The standard inlet sits 770mm below ground level. If your drain arrives deeper than that, choose a deeper inlet option, and the tank will be supplied with a riser to suit.
