The 7500 Litre Shallow Dig Silage Effluent Tank from GRAF is the largest standard Platin silage tank. It suits a medium clamp where rock, clay or groundwater rule out a deep dig.
Like all Platin tanks, the 7500 litre shallow dig silage effluent tank is wide and flat rather than tall. The tank body is just 1250 mm high, which keeps the excavation shallow, cuts digging costs and makes it a strong choice where the water table is high. GRAF designs Platin tanks to stay stable in groundwater, and the tough polyethylene body is far lighter than concrete.
Silage effluent is highly polluting and acidic, so it must go into a sealed tank rather than soak away. Polyethylene will not corrode in silage liquor, and the tank also suits dirty water from yards and parlours.

Sizing a 7500 Litre Shallow Dig Silage Effluent Tank
In England, SSAFO rules ask for at least 20 litres of effluent tank capacity for each cubic metre of silo, up to 1,500 cubic metres. On that basis a 7500 litre silage effluent tank covers a silo of up to around 380 cubic metres.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have similar rules, and below-ground tanks must stay watertight for at least 20 years. Speak to us if you need the manufacturer paperwork for the Environment Agency or your local regulator.
